Champ Promotions returns to Victoria’s Q Centre on Saturday, June 20th for its highly anticipated eighth installment: Champ 8. Doors open at 2:00 PM for the undercard, with the main card kicking off at 7:00 PM. The event delivers multiple amateur boxing and kickboxing events for the undercard and five professional bouts including one kickboxing and four boxing. Headlined by a WBF Heavyweight International Belt where an international boxing champion will be crowned.
MAIN EVENT | WBF International Heavyweight Belt BRANDON COLANTONIO vs. ZACH CONTOS
Saltspring’s own Brandon Colantonio, “The Real Life Rocky”, headlines Champ 8 in front of his home crowd with a WBF International Belt on the line. A national amateur silver medalist, Colantonio has spent his professional career proving he belongs at the top of the heavyweight division. A professional record consisting of seven wins and only two losses he gets stronger with every round that passes, proven by his recent fight against USA Olympian and Pan Am Games Gold Medalist Joshua Edwards in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile arena on the Ryan Garcia v Mario Barrios undercard.
Opposite him stands Zach Contos who has been making noise in the heavyweight division since his 2024 debut, racking up an 80% KO rate across seven professional fights. The Airdrie, Alberta heavyweight claimed the Canadian/Mexican Pacific Coast Championship title in Mexico in just his fifth professional fight and has been building toward bigger opportunities ever since. Contos arrives at the Q Centre with power, ambition, and something to prove.
CO-MAIN EVENT | SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT | STEPHANE FONDJO vs. PHILIP QUARTEY
Stéphane Fondjo is no ordinary challenger. The number-one ranked fighter in Cameroon, now based in Canada, carries a 14-win professional record with 9 stoppages, a 64% KO rate built across rings in Ghana, Mexico, Thailand, the UAE, and Canada. A globetrotter of the sport who has sacrificed everything to reach this stage, Fondjo arrives on Vancouver Island with something to prove at the international level.
He’ll take on Philip Quartey, a hard-hitting welterweight out of Accra, Ghana with a 75% KO rate across five professional fights. A Commonwealth Games representative for Ghana, Quartey brings international pedigree and serious finishing power to the Q Centre on June 20. Orthodox in stance and dangerous with his hands, he travels to Victoria looking to add another statement win to his record.
SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT | MIKHAIL MILLER vs. SAMUEL “KING” MOSES
Toronto’s battle-tested veteran Mikhail Miller brings ten years in the sport and 16 professional fights. He’s ready to make a statement on home soil.
Across the ring stands WBC Silver Champion Samuel “King” Moses of Vancouver, 9 wins, 8 by knockout, and an 88.89% finishing rate that makes every round a live threat. Moses most recently captured the WBC USA Silver super middleweight title with a dramatic tenth-round TKO of Ryan Young in Hamilton, Ontario, cementing his status as one of Canada’s most dangerous men at 168 lbs.
PROFESSIONAL BOXING | Debut Bout DONOVAN “COOL” CRIDLAND vs. SAMSONDEEN KAZEEM
BC Amateur Champion Donovan “Cool” Cridland has earned his shot at the biggest stage, and he’s taking it, in his home province, in front of his community. The amateur credentials are there. Now the professional journey begins.
Across the ring: Samsondeen Kazeem, Nigeria’s rising force, who announced himself on the professional scene with a debut knockout. Two fighters with everything to prove, both stepping into the professional ranks, both looking to land their first statement win under the lights of Champ 8.
PROFESSIONAL KICKBOXING ASHLEY “SMASHCITY” WATKINS vs. KIANA INOUE | 6:30 PM BOUT
Ashley “Smashcity” Watkins carries 18 years of combat sports experience across kickboxing, MMA, and Muay Thai. A relentless pressure fighter and seasoned striker who loves a brawl, Watkins brings the kind of controlled chaos that elevates an entire fight card.
Opposite her stands Victoria’s own Kiana Inoue, stepping into her second professional kickboxing bout after a successful pro debut in Tokyo earlier this year. Fighting on home soil in front of her community, Inoue brings the momentum of that debut and the hunger of an athlete who is just getting started.

Before the professional bouts take centre stage, the amateur undercard opens at 5:30 PM and features three compelling matchups.
